January Blues

January is more than half over and I haven't been blue. The sunshine these last few days has more than made up for all the rain of previous weeks.

On Monday, Sue and I took advantage of the blue sky and sunshine and went for a walk around Como Lake. I think everyone in the neighbourhood had the same idea. Lots of kids and dogs all so happy to be outside without an umbrella. Daisy thought she was in doggy heaven -- lots of new smells to sniff and other dogs to look at with disdain. (She much prefers people to dogs.) The ducks on the frozen part of the lake looked like they were on a skating rink and they put on a performance for all the spectators.

This month Aly and Jordan have their birthdays. Brenna tells me that they are driving to Calgary with Ethan to help Alyson celebrate. I suppose Jordan will have to go out with his buddies in Ottawa. Perhaps next year they'll be back in Vancouver for their big days.

Nice day for a walk, but those "ducks" must be the "westcoast" variety... Or are they called landgulls
