October Daze

October was a busy month all around. My sister from Winnipeg spent two weeks with me. This meant reminiscing and chatting for hours on end. It always amazes me how different we view our childhood though we grew up in the same home with the same parents.

Gordie's brother and his wife also visited me. We had time for lunch and a visit before they headed off to celebrate their friends' fiftieth wedding anniversary. Now there is another instance of growing up in the same home but having different remembrances. Gordon was 14 when Robert was born, so they didn't spend too long under the same roof.

Susan retired from Fraser Health at the end of October, so there were many celebrations. Peggy and I were included in many of the activities and it was nice to hear the tributes to Susan. Her dad would have been so proud of his daughter. I know I am.

Now October is over and things seem to be settling down. I have a visit from Pat and Lucas to look forward to and then a visit from Erin. How lucky can I get?
