School's Out!

Yesterday afternoon I had an nice experience. I had my little dog out for a walk around 4 P.M., and had just passed the back of my neighbourhood school, when I saw a workman hop out of his car with his lunch kit swinging from his hand. He walked along a path that went through to the front of the school.

I didn't think much more of it until I came upon this same man at the front of the school a short time later. This time, though, he had his little girl with him. They were so happy to see each other that it made me smile. They walked along laughing and talking. I passed them and said, "you certainly enjoy each other," and the little girl answered, "Oh, yes!"

I am sure this man had worked hard and long all day, but to see his little girl so happy to see him -- well, it must have made his day.
