The Sun has finally found B.C.

After a dreary spring, it is wonderful to see some sunshine again. Peggy and I are on our own with the departure of Alyson to Calgary, Alberta and Susan to Burlington, Ontario.

Alyson is starting her career in Calgary on the third of July and Susan is on vacation in Burlington. We are green with envy when we hear of Susan sitting around the pool or swimming with the kids and Mamak. (But then, we're supposed to be going green, aren't we?)

Last night we put Daisy in the car and went to the Austin Avenue Safeway and picked up some deli stuff for supper. We enjoyed our sandwiches at a picnic table in Blue Mountain park. Afterward we wandered along the walkway that circles the park. The children's wading pool was open and the water-park was in full swing. It felt like summer.

In the afternoon my neighbour phoned to see if I would like to go to the Westminster Quay for a walk. What a pleasant time. We met a couple of friends I hadn't seen all winter and had a nice chat. The sand bags are still around the boardwalk but the Fraser is not as high as last time I was there. The roses are out and the spring flowers just about finished. A nice day.

Sounds like a fabulous way to start the summer. The last 2 days it has been gorgeous in Calgary. I do miss the green ways of BC though. The recycling out here cannot compare with BC. Love you Grandma!
