The end of June and we are still waiting for summer. The sun is out tonight, so hopefully it will be nice for our annual "Canada Day" picnic tomorrow. We are trying a new spot this year on the other side of the Fraser River. At first there were only five of us coming but now the number is up to twelve. "What if it rains?" everyone asks. We can bring umbrellas and sit around the fire and toast weiners. After all we are hardy Canadians.Last night Sue, Peggy, Avril and I went up to a golf course at Westwood Plateau for dinner. Like tonight, the weather cleared up and there was a lovely view from where we were sitting. We all poured over our menus without saying anything to each other about what we would order. (Except me, I wanted a small steak but that was not on the menu). As it happened we all ordered the same thing. Chicken souvalaki with a Greek salad and rice. Lots of time to sit and chatter about our lives and things in general. I am so fortunate to be included in these times with my daughters.
