Things are never dull around here. It is just three weeks before Al and Peggy's wedding. What was to be a quiet affair seems to be growing. At first there were to be just the bride and groom, Susan and I plus a Marriage Commissioner.
When the families heard about the wedding, things began to change. Why wouldn't Jordan and Alyson want to come to their mom's wedding? What about siblings from both sides, naturally they want to come.
It will still be at my place, (8th day, the 8th month at 888 Gauthier Ave.) I contacted the Strata Council for permission to use the courtyard for the ceremony if there are too many people for my living room. We will go to our favourite Chinese restaurant for lunch. The following day is the garden celebration out at Avril and Garth's place in Maple Ridge.
Yesterday, Susan had a shower for Peggy. This was held so that Mamak and the children could be part of the celebrations. They are going home to Burlington and dad on the the 28th of July.
The shower was so much fun. So many good friends came to wish "The Bride" lots of happiness. Susan is such a good hostess and a good organizer. I am sure it was a lot of work but she makes it seem so easy. Besides the shower, she was entertaining Bethany and Kurt from Calgary. Bethany, Lauren and Natasha all helped in the preparations. Perhaps being able to delegate is the secret to success.
In the midst of all this we will celebrate Carson's fifth birthday on July 25th.
Who says life is dull in the eighties? Certainly not this Mother-of-the-bride!

How kind of you to post one of my photos!
I did so enjoy Peggy's shower and all the people.
I didn't have your email address, so I couldn't send the pix to you and assume that either Peggy or Sue sent them along.
Julie
Julie, it was so nice of you to send the pictures to my girls. They were sent on to the rest of the family as well. My daughter-in-law thought I had taken them and sent you a note.
What a great bunch of friends my kids have.
