Two famous Canadian Women have left us

This morning I read of the death of June Calwood. In March, Doris Anderson died. Two women of my era that I admired . They made their way in a world where women were not encouraged in the work force. They both had successful careers and helped others on the way. The world will be a sadder place without these two remarkablewomen. I am proud of them.

Doris and June challenged the status quo of their day and, as a woman, I am so glad they did. Kids raised in the depression developed a sound, practical way of facing life, head-on. Good blog, Doris. Keep up your writing -- it inspires others.

I once heard June Calwood speak. I was about 35 years old and I was inspired. I kept the tapes of her speech until just last year when I threw them out. Now I wish I had kept them!
