May is here but it is still cool and wet. My three daughters are all away travelling. Peggy and her daughter are in New York to celebrate Alyson's graduation from university. Susan is in Calgary on business, Pat is on Vancouver Island to visit her sister-in-law. A busy family.
Last night a good family friend took me shopping for a hanging basket for my balcony. There was such a variety it was hard to choose. I wanted one that was not in full bloom so I could enjoy it all summer. We wandered around the garden shop until Al finally saw a beauty in an obscure corner. Good purchase. We continued on our journey to my favourite hamburger spot and had an unhealthy supper of hamburgers, fries and root beer. I will never live to 100 at this rate (thank goodness). Did a bit of grocery shopping and came home to tea and cookies. What a nice evening. Al's birthday is on the 12th and mine is on the 14th, so we celebrated together.

- I am a woman in my eighties. Grew up in the west-end of Winnipeg. Moved to Vancouver in 1947, so am really a west coast woman. The eighties are quite different. A good family is essential to a happy senior's life and I have that. I walk with my little white dog every day, so know many of my neighbours (you know, the older lady with the little dog).
